COMMUNITY SURVEY FINANCIAL FEASIBILITY STUDY
Our approach to a community survey/financial feasibility study for a capital campaign:
OBJECTIVES
- Determine the overall
attitudes and opinions of those interviewed toward the
organization without specific identifying reference.
- Conduct a community survey
that will measure the potential success of raising
"friends and funds" for your hospital.
- Determine the level of
support the community is willing to fund, and
establish a possible capital campaign goal with
timetable and budget necessary to realize the agreed
upon goal.
- Measure the community's perceptions and understanding of the importance of charitable gifts to your hospital's future viability.
These objectives provide the outline of the written and oral recommendations that we will give to your leadership group.
What is a Community Survey/Feasibility Study?
The survey consists of personal, confidential interviews with your organization's administration, members of your hospital and foundation boards, leadership of your Auxiliary, employees, business executives, political office holders, and key community leaders.
Who completes the survey and how long does it take?
One of our consultants will come to your hospital and conduct the interviews. The interviews are completed in about 30 minutes. We recommend that at least 30 and no more than 50 interviews be conducted. We normally complete the survey within 90 days or less, followed by formal oral and written reports with our recommendations being given to your board.
After the survey is completed, several issues can be addressed:
- Is the Development Council
structure right for your organization or does it need
to be modified?
- Will your community provide
you the on-going financial support that you need and
how much is available?
- Should your organization
proceed with this Development Council Program?
- Does your community understand the importance of philanthropy and how it can meet your future community and financial support for your hospital's future viability?
